Restored English Translation of Genesis: Chapter 6

The next installment in my Restored English Translation (RET) of the Bible: Beresheet (Genesis) chapter 6.  As usual, it contains the Hebrew names and the Aleph Tavs, even though I’m no longer certain about them.  A glossary is provided at the end for the Hebrew names.
This chapter contains the account of the infamous Nephilim, the offspring of humans and (fallen) angels.  Some people try to push alternate theories that say, for example, that the “sons of ELOHIM [God]” who slept with the “daughters of men” were the descendants of Seth, and that the women were therefore the descendants of Cain.  Gary Bates, in his book Alien Intrusion: UFOs and the Evolution Connection, explains:
The adherents to the Sethite view believe that the “sons of God” were a hereditary line descended from Seth, and that this was a God-fearing lineage.  The scriptural support for this idea comes from Genesis 4:25-26, which describes the birth of Seth to his father Adam.  It says:
Adam lay with is wife again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, saying, “God has granted me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him.”  Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh.  At that time men began to call on the name of the LORD.
It was assumed to be a godly line because the passage says that men began to call out to God.  However, some Christian apologists, citing ancient biblical historians, claim that “call” has been mistranslated and should actually read “profane”.  In any case, it doesn’t really matter.  There were many generations after Enoch, and family heritage is not an automatic producer of piety [as David and the subsequent Jewish kings proved].
This view also holds that the daughters of men were descended from the evil Cain (who murdered his brother Abel).  If this were the case, however, one wonders why the Scripture did not say “sons of Seth” and “daughters of Cain.”  There does not appear to be any textual basis for applying exclusivity to Seth’s or Cain’s lineage.  If there is any distinctive line at all, benoth Adam means the daughters of Adam, which ultimately means all women anyway.  There is nothing to suggest that Seth’s line was any more pious than anyone else on the face of the earth, and conversely, there is no implication that any daughters of Cain would have been more sinful than anyone else.  According to 1 John 3:12, Cain belonged to “the wicked one” because he murdered his brother Abel, but this passage does not refer to his offspring.  If the remaining descendants of Seth were so “godly”, why were they not spared the judgment on sin that everyone received, except Noah and his family?  (Appendix, “UFOs in the Bible and Other Questions”, pages 354-355)
Gabriel Roth, in his Aramaic English New Testament, proposes a variant of the debunked Sethite theory that suggests that the Flood was punishment for polygyny introduced by the descendants of Cain.  Aside from the fact that there is nothing in the Bible to suggest that the progeny of Cain founded the practice of polygamy – any sort – it also ignores what the Bible says in the books of Enoch and Jubilees that the “sons of God” were the fallen angels and the “daughters of men” simply women.
Another theory holds that the “sons of God” were pagan kings and rulers who claimed to be “gods”.  Again, no evidence, and it contradicts the Scriptures.
Notice also that Noah was described as being “perfect in his generations”; meaning physically perfect, the same word later used to describe sacrificial animals that were physically pure, no blemish.  In other words, this is saying that Noah, his wife, and his daughters-in-law were among the only remaining humans on the earth – almost everyone else being Nephilim, or fully in league with them.
Another observation: in Genesis 6:16, YAH tells Noah in most translations, “You shall make a window in the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit above.”  While it is true that the Ark did have a window (Genesis 7:6), that is not the word used here.  The word used is Strong’s H6672, “tsohar”, which means a light, and is sometimes used to refer to the noonday.  It does not mean window.  What am I getting at?  What do I mean?  Well, if one reads Jonathan Gray’s excellent book Dead Men’s Secrets (which you can read online at https://outrageousminds.files.wordpress.com/2014/07/dead-mens-secretsfull.pdf), you will find strong ARCHAEOLOGICAL evidence of advanced technology in ancient times – technology far more advanced than ours.  Among the many things the ancients had was ELECTRICITY.  As Gray explains:
Electricity may have played a vital role in the operation of the Ark of Noah during the Great Flood. Referring to the Ark, two Hebrew words are translated as “window” in the English Bible.
In one reference (Gen. 8:6), the Hebrew word challon (“opening”) is used—the window through which Noah released the birds.
The other reference (Gen. 6:16) uses a different word—tsohar, which is translated as “window” but does not mean window or opening at all! Where it is used (twenty-two times in the Old Testament), its meaning is given as “a brightness, a brilliance, the light of the noonday sun,” referring to something that “glistens, glitters or shines,” or “a light which has its origins in a shining crystal,” according to many Jewish scholars of the traditional school. [One will find in the book that many ancint accounts refer to light bulbs/electric lighting as “crystals”; according to an old Jewish legend, even Solomon had some!]
For centuries Hebrew tradition has described the tsohar as an enormous gem or pearl hung in the Ark, which by some power within itself illuminated the entire vessel.
Jonathan Gray then goes on to mention the Sumerian legend of the Flood: “In the preparation of the ‘huge boat’, Utu (Methuselah) brought ‘his rays (of the sun) into the boat, in order to give it light.'”
In accordance with the evidence, I have used the word “light”, rather than “window”, in verse 16.
Also, instead of using the phrases “sons of men”, “sons of God” and “daughters of men”, I have used “humans”, “associates of God/Elohim” and “human women”.  Dr A Nyland, in her book Complete Books of Enoch: 1 Enoch (First Book of Enoch), 2 Enoch (Secrets of Enoch), 3 Enoch (Hebrew Book of Enoch), explains (page 13):
The phrase often mistranslated “sons of men”, “children of men”, actually meant “people”, “humans.”  The word children/sons with a noun refers to a member of a class of people, and should not be translated as “son/child of.{”  The phrase “sons of (place name”/”children of (place name)” again refers to inhabitants of that place.  The Benai Israel, translated in the King James Version as “children/sons of Israel” actually means “members of the the class of people called Israel” and should be translated as “Israelites.”  The expression is also found in Greek, and found as early as Homer.  The same is the case in the New Testament, where the Greek word huios is placed with the word “Israel,” referring to “members of the class of people called Israel” and should be translated as “Israelites.”  Properly, it is not to be translated as “children of Israel” or “sons of Israel.”  Likewise, Autenrieth’s Homeric Dictionary notes that huios with the word Achaeon means “Achaeans” [not “sons of Achaeon”] and this is typical Greek usage.
Dr Nyland then goes on to explain in further detail the Greek term, before concluding (page 14): “Thus ‘sons of God’ is a mistranslation for ‘associates of God’, and ‘daughters of men’ is a mistranslation for ‘human women.'”
In verse 11, the Hebrew word for “violence” is “Hamas”, same as the Palestinian terrorist group.
It is a common myth that verse 3 “And his [man’s] days will be 120 years” refers to how long humans will be able to live, as most humans no longer live as long as people did before the Flood.  However, people still to[1][2].  It actually simply refers to the number years left until the Flood, NOT how long we are allowed to live (as the above links prove).
A final observation: YAH/God made a great distinction in this chapter between clean and unclean animals, proving that these laws existed beforehand, and were NOT merely introduced by Moses (or nailed to the cross; it has been scientifically proven that the Bible’s unclean animals are not fit for human consumption).
CHAPTER 6
1 And it was that the humans began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them. 2 And saw the associates of The ELOHIM את the human women, that they were pleasant. And they took for themselves wives of all whom they chose. 3 And YEHOVAH said, “My Ruach will not always strive with humanity in their erring, for he is but flesh. And his days will be 120 years.” 4 There were Nephilim in the earth in those days, and also afterwards, when the associates of The ELOHIM went in to the human women, and they bore to them. They were the mighty tyrant warriors who were from ancient times, men of the renown.
5 And YEHOVAH saw that the wickedness of the humans was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the day. 6 And YEHOVAH repented that He had made את the human race on the earth, and it pained Him to His heart. 7 And YEHOVAH said, “I will destroy את the humans whom I have created from the face of the earth; from humans to beast, to the crawling thing and to the birds of the heavens, for I repent that I made them.” 8 But Noach found grace in the eyes of YEHOVAH.
9 These are the generations of Noach: Noach was a righteous man and perfect in his generations. With את The ELOHIM Noach walked. 10 And Noach fathered 3 sons: את Shem, את Cham, and את Yefet. 11 The earth also was corrupt before The ELOHIM, and the earth was filled with violence. 12 And saw ELOHIM את the earth, and behold, it was corrupt, for had corrupted all flesh את its way on the earth.
13 And ELOHIM said to Noach, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. And, behold, I will destroy them from את the earth. 14 Make for yourself an ark of gopher wood. Rooms you shall make את in the ark, and you shall cover it within and without with bitumen. 15 And this is how you shall make it: the length of the ark will be 300 cubits, the width 50 cubits, and the height 30 cubits. 16 You shall make a light in the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit above. And you shall set a door in the side of the ark; and you shall make it with lower, second and third stories. 17 And even I, behold, I am bringing את the flood of waters on the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life from under the heavens; everything which is on the earth will die. 18 But I will establish את My Covenant with you. And you shall come into the ark, you, and your sons, and your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. 19 And you shall bring two of every kind of every living thing of all flesh into the ark, to keep alive with you; they shall be male and female. 20 From birds after their kind, and from cattle after their kind, from every crawling thing of the ground after its kind, two of every sort shall come to you, to keep them alive. 21 And you, take for yourself of all food that is eaten, and you shall gather it to you. And it shall be for food for you, and for them.” 22 And Noach did according to all that ELOHIM commanded him; so he did.
