Here is my Restored English Translation (RET) of Beresheet ( Genesis ) chapter 9.  As usual, it contains the  Hebrew names and the  Aleph Tavs (although I now doubt them ).  A glossary of the Hebrew names used can be found at the end. This chapter contains the infamous incident of Noah getting drunk, and Ham spotting him.  This incident is very strange; verses 20-27 read (RET): “ 20 And Noach [Noah] began to be a man of the ground, and planted a vineyard.  21 And he drank from the wine, and was drunk.  And he stripped himself inside his tent.  22 And saw Cham [Ham] , the father of Kena’an [Canaan], את nakedness of his father; and he told to his two brothers outside.  23 And took Shem and Yefet  [Japheth] את the garment and laid it on both their shoulders, and they went backwards, and covered את nakedness of their father.  And their faces were turned backward, and they did not see their father’s nakedness.  24 A...

Here is my Restored English Translation (RET) of the Book of Beresheet (Genesis).  As usual, it contains the  Hebrew names and the  Aleph Tavs (even though I now seriously doubt them ), as well as a glossary of the Hebrew names at the end. Chapter 8 continues the Flood narrative that began in chapter 6.  A note on chapter 7: it specifically says (verse 20) that the waters rose 15 cubits (7.5 metres, or 24.6 feet) above the highest mountain s , thus disproving the notion that the Flood was local.  Water seeks its own level, and cannot drown the highest mountain without drowning everything else on the planet.  (Kinda like the tsunami that drowned the Himalayas in the movie 2012 ; it would have been simply impossible for any of the rest of the planet to survive.  Same situation here – literally, albeit with fewer survivors, and only one ark, and no unrighteous elite.) This is my monthly reblog of an older post . The canon of Scripture is a settled issue, isn’t it? You’ve got your 66 books total, 39 in the Old Testament (24 by the Jewish counting) and 27 in the New Testament. However, when you do the research, things are not so simple. There are many “other” books claiming to be Scripture, a number of them accepted by various denominations and/or included in various Bibles over the years. Are they Scripture? This is my monthly reblog of an older post . Today is the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) in Australia – on my calendar (see Feast Calendar ). This is also my 200th post! Today is in Australia (for me) the Day of Atonement; it’s the 7th in the US (if you follow my calendar). J-M's History Corner Today – Monday, 8th October, 2018 – is (at least in Australia) Yom Kippur – otherwise known in English as the Day of Atonement, one of the Biblical feasts mandated in the Torah, which still apply to us . As my readers will by now know, I have embarked on a project to translate the entire Bible into English, a project I am calling the Restored English Translation (RET).  I have previously posted  Genesis 1 of this translation; today is Genesis 2. I will, in this translation, restore our Creator Yehovah’s original Name, as well as, where it appears, His title Elohim (commonly translated as God).  I also restore other Hebrew names .  I also restore the Aleph Tav את which is the  revelation of Yehoshua ha’Mashiach (Jesus the Christ/Messiah) throughout the Tanakh (Old Testament), as well as in the Hebrew Brit Chadashah (New Testament). My sister’s blogiversary post – complete with a hilarious comedy skit containing several bloggers as characters (myself included!). Racheal's Novels Today Racheal’s Novels turns a year old!!! I love you guys. You truly brightened my day with your likes and views.  These past twelve months are among the best I’ve ever had – my writing skills have improved so much (of course, that wouldn’t have happened without all of you, and my family). Excellent article (ignore the Trump-bashing video towards the end; the rest is excellent and on topic). REALITY BLOG I am not here today in an attempt to debate on the subject of this post, and I’m not here to declare what “shape” the earth is. The most honest answer is invariable always that one which best describes one’s best disposition, which is that I simply don’t know. I cannot know. I have no vantage point to utter such a confident declaration and build a faith-based counter-cultural movement around it. I would never claim to know without seeing for myself, which I cannot.
