Restored English Translation of Matthew: Chapter 6

At long last, here is my Restored English Translation (RET) of Matityahu ( Matthew ) chapter 6.  As usual, it contains the Hebrew names , with a glossary of them at the end. (To clarify: CHAPTER 6 1 “Take heed that you do not do your alms before men, to be seen of them; otherwise you have no reward of your Father Who is in Heaven. 2 Therefore when you give alms, do not blow a shofar before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may receive glory from men. Truly I tell you, they have their reward. 3 But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 that your alms may be in secret. And your Father Who sees in secret will reward you openly Himself. 5 And when you pray, you will not be as the hypocrites are. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their reward. 6 But you, when you pray, e...

Restored English Translation of Matthew: Chapter 5

G'day everyone!  Today I present my Restored English Translation (RET) of the 5th chapter of the Besorot Matityahu , commonly known in English as the Gospel of Matthew .  As usual, it contains the Hebrew names , with a glossary at the end.  This translation is primarily based on the original Hebrew , and so will sometimes differ from conventional translations (although rarely on something doctrinally significant). This chapter contains one of the strongest statements on the fact that the Torah - the Sabbath, Feasts (Passover etc) - still apply to us today.  See verses 17-19, and Does the Torah Still Apply? . CHAPTER 5 1 And seeing the multitudes, He went up into a mountain. And when He was set, His disciples came to Him. 2 And He opened His mouth, and taught them, saying, 3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. 4 Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the Land. 6 Bless...

Restored English Translation of Matthew: Chapter 4

G'day, everyone!  Today, I present my Restored English Translation (RET) of  Matityahu ( Matthew ) chapter 4.  As usual, it contains the Hebrew names , with a glossary of them at the end.  As this translation is sourced from the original Hebrew , there will be some differences - mostly minor - when compared to conventional translations. CHAPTER 4 1 Then YEHOSHUA was led up by the RUACH HA‘ KODESH into the wilderness of Yehudah to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted 40 days and 40 nights, He was hungry afterwards. 3 And when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You be the Son of ELOHIM, command that these stones be made bread.” 4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man will not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of ELOHIM.’” 5 Then the devil took Him up into the set-apart city, and set Him on a pinnacle of the temple, 6 and says to him, “If You be the Son of ELOHIM, cast Yourself down. For it is writt...
