At long last, here is my Restored English Translation (RET) of Matityahu ( Matthew ) chapter 6.  As usual, it contains the Hebrew names , with a glossary of them at the end. (To clarify: CHAPTER 6 1 “Take heed that you do not do your alms before men, to be seen of them; otherwise you have no reward of your Father Who is in Heaven. 2 Therefore when you give alms, do not blow a shofar before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may receive glory from men. Truly I tell you, they have their reward. 3 But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 that your alms may be in secret. And your Father Who sees in secret will reward you openly Himself. 5 And when you pray, you will not be as the hypocrites are. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their reward. 6 But you, when you pray, e...

Part 1: https://jmshistorycorner.wordpress.com/2020/03/29/giants-in-america-part-1/ From Beyond Science TV: Are giants real? At some point in our distant past, were there ancient people of enormous size that walked the earth and dominated the planet as humans now do? So much knowledge of the world’s past has been lost throughout the ages – some destroyed by war, some ruined by natural disasters, some neglected by mankind’s ignorance and lack of appreciation, and some simply disappeared as a natural consequence of the passage of time. But while much has been lost, much also remains to be discovered. And the clues to answering questions like whether or not giants once existed on the planet could actually be found in what lies beneath our feet. In recent years, due to the number of mysterious findings around the world supporting the idea that giants walked on earth a long, long time ago, more and more people are seriously considering the possibility that these gigantic human-like cre...

(OK, I admit I was partly inspired to write this post when watching the excellent live-action remake of Aladdin – specifically in the climax when Jasmine sings the inspiring song “ Speechless “, which brought to mind certain attitudes toward women that some claim is Biblical.) The Bible is filled with examples of women of faith who held leadership roles in both secular and religious contexts, who commanded men, had ministries, etc.  Deborah, Esther, Priscilla, Hulda, Judith, etc are good examples.  Deborah is a particularly striking example, as she was a government leader. The Bible is similarly full of statements such as “There is neither… male nor female , for you are all one in Yehoshua [Jesus] the Messiah” ( Galatians 3:28) or “ So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them”, clearly showing that gender should be about as much a consideration for anything in the Body of Christ as it is in the se...

My good friend Lydia Potter from the blog In His Service and Loving It (which I highly recommend) suggested I film myself singing.  Utterly bored thanks to COVID-19, me and my sister Racheal (username Rue202) of the blogs Racheal’s Novels and Miscellaneous Oddity decided to take up her suggestion, and filmed ourselves singing I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor. https://youtu.be/1fNqJSgAwFY It turned out even worse than expected.  Still, it’s a good cringe laugh!

I gotta admit, these first two videos are kinda emotional as an invested Marvel Cinematic Universe fan (and Marvel fan in general).  They won’t have the same effect if you haven’t seen Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame , which are not only the two finest MCU films, but among the finest films ever made.  (And yes, I’m 100% saying that as a biased fan!) https://youtu.be/p9MnXkWLe5M https://youtu.be/aiRY36TPVo8 As a fan of the DC Extended Universe – especially of Wonder Woman , the best film in the franchise – I really liked this: https://youtu.be/W_9CcHC3VRs And some compilations I found quite fun as a Harry Potter fan: https://youtu.be/vipmgWMhROk https://youtu.be/i0NGWvkloAY Whether or not you’re a fan, I hope you enjoy these! http://www.cepher.net/?af=59

My sister Racheal (blogger name Rue202 and my brother Joshua and myself have sung our own rendition of the famous Frozen song Let It Go !  Hope you enjoy.  https://youtu.be/yP0HgOTGFko
