Thunderbirds Are GO!

Image
Blockbusters Reviewed Welcome to the 13th edition of My Fortnightly Movie/TV Thoughts .  Last fortnight I reviewed The Shack (2017).  This fortnight, I’m reviewing: Thunderbirds Are Go (2015-present), overall rated PG for mild themes and violence That of course is the Australian rating; not sure what the TV rating in the US is. As usual, I’ll give the trailer and a clip at the end.  (Since this is a TV series, I might include more than one.)  And as usual, I offer the disclaimer (just in case): WARNING: POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD.  PROCEED AT OWN RISK. Thunderbirds Are Go ITV’s CGI remake of the classic ’60s sci-fi show Thunderbirds is among my all-time favourite TV shows.  (And my first review of a TV series proper – Jesus being a two-part mini-seriees.) In 2060, a secretive organisation with advanced technology works to save lives around the globe.  Based on a secret island, they are… View original post 1,120 more words

Restored English Translation of Esther: Chapter 3

Today I present my Restored English Translation (RET) of Ester ( Esther ) chapter 3.  What I call “chapter 3”, you’ll probably know as “chapter 1”; that’s because several chapters of the original Book of Esther have been removed from most translations and relegated to “The Apocrypha”.  See Restored English Translation of Esther: Chapter 1 and The Canon of Scripture, Part 1: The Apocrypha . As usual, it contains the Hebrew names, with a glossary of them afterwards.  At the end is a list of where the Aleph-Tavs occur, as they are no longer included in the main text. CHAPTER 3 1 Now it was in the days of Achashverosh (this is Achashverosh who reigned from Hodu even to Kush, over 127 provinces), 2 that in those days, when the King Achashverosh sat on the throne of his kingdom, which was in Shushan the palace, 3 in the 3rd year of his reign, he made a feast for all his princes and his servants; the power of Paras and Madai, the nobles and princes of the provinces were bef

The Canon of Scripture, Part 7: The Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs

The 7th part in my ongoing (and long) series on the Canon of Scripture – discussing what books that do and don’t make the divine Cut.  Here are the first 6 parts: The Canon of Scripture, Part 1: The Apocrypha The Canon of Scripture, Part 2: Enoch and Jubilees The Canon of Scripture, Part 3: Jasher The Canon of Scripture, Part 4: The Other Books of Baruch The Canon of Scripture, Part 5: The Other Books of Enoch The Canon of Scripture, Part 6: The Lost Book of Ezekiel Today we are examining the Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs , which claims to represent the final treatise of each of the 12 sons of Jacob/Israel on their respective death beds.  It’s often divided into 12 books, one for each son. Although often accused of being Christian (or interpolated by Christians), fragments of the Testaments – comprising portions of Levi (in Aramaic) and Naphtali (in Hebrew) were found among the Dead Sea Scrolls at Qumran, predating Christ.  There are several similarities

And Then Messiah Shall Come This article was written by a 26 year old college student by the name of Alyssa Ahlgren, who’s in grad school for her MBA. It’s a short article but definitely worth a read. I would love to see this go viral!! “College Student: My Generation Is Blind to the Prosperity Around Us I’m sitting in a small coffee shop near Nokomis trying to think of what to write about. I scroll through my newsfeed on my phone looking at the latest headlines of Democratic candidates calling for policies to “fix” the so-called injustices of capitalism. I put my phone down and continue to look around. I see people talking freely, working on their MacBook’s, ordering food they get in an instant, seeing cars go by outside, and it dawned on me. We live in the most privileged time in the most prosperous nation and we’ve become completely blind to it… View original post 386 more words

More Time Slip Accounts

Image
This is my third post about time slips, after Time Slips and My Time Slip Experiences .  A “time slip” is when a person – or persons – seemingly travel through time, usually through no actions of their own.  I can personally attest that it’s a real phenomenon (I’ve experienced it).  Here are some more time slip accounts I’ve found. Experienced by Darren P: I have had two time slips , the first when I was 11 years old. I was looking through my house window at home hoping to see mum. Instead, there was a man wearing brown trousers and a white shirt stood at the kitchen sink. Then I noticed that the kitchen was different very old fashioned with what I now know as a Belfast sink. I entered the house only to see that the man had disappeared and the kitchen was back to it’s 1979 norm. As a young boy, I was convinced this was a ghost. Fast forward 39 years and I was walking up a street after parking my car to go buy some lunch and noticed a very old elevator with metal fo
