Exposing Bill Schnoebelen

Image
William “Bill” Schnoebelen has been making the rounds in Christian circles since the 1980s. His story is almost too good to be true: he claims to have been a former Catholic priest, Wiccan, Mormon, satanist, 90th degree Mason (there are only 33 degrees), Illuminati member, and vampire – all at the same time (first warning bell) – before becoming a Christian. He gives speeches giving an “inside look” at these organisations. Problem is, it is too good to be true. The guy really should’ve tried harder: he just can’t keep his story straight, and has committed outright deception. For one thing: THERE ARE ONLY 33 DEGREES OF MASONRY! And that’s mainly the Scottish rite. Other Masonic rights have even fewer degrees. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A “90TH DEGREE MASON”! For another, there is his demonstrably false claims about Dungeons & Dragons . This connects to my post Christian Paranoia: Dungeons & Dragons – Part 1 , which covers some of the lies some

Speechless

My sister Racheal and brother Joshua and of course myself have produced another singing video – this time we tackle “Speechless” from the remake of Aladdin . And I dare say we’ve improved a tad since our very first video (I Will Survive). Enjoy! https://youtu.be/wNKkObmHNho   http://www.cepher.net/?af=59

Upcoming Movies I'm Looking Forward To

Image
Yeah, I can’t immediately think of anything else to post that doesn’t take a lot of time (working on something for Uni at the moment). I’m a BIG fan of Daniel Craig’s James Bond films, and the next installment – his last – No Time to Die is definitely high on my “to watch” list. https://youtu.be/BIhNsAtPbPI   The Marvel Cinematic Universe is my ALL-TIME FAVOURITE film series, and I love Scarlett Johansson’s character Black Widow, so I’m absolutely looking forward to its 24th (yes, 24th) installment – Black Widow .  The fact that it’s got a Winter Soldier vibe only increases my hype! https://youtu.be/ybji16u608U   I’m a BIG fan of disaster movies AND Gerard Butler.  Combine the two again (Butler starred in the excellent 2017 disaster movie  Geostorm ) and give it something of a Deep Impact vibe – Deep Impact being among the best disaster films ever made – and I’m hooked for Greenland ! https://youtu.be/1AyxdYP1SNc   Christopher Nolan – the genius director behind Batma

My Birthday!

Image
Yesterday – August 13th, the day before yesterday (that’s what happens when you spend too much time on a post near midnight) – I turned 21!  I’m now officially in my third decade of life. Happy birthday to me! A selfie I took just now. Although, personally speaking, I think this photo from a month or two ago makes me look more attractive I would’ve posted yesterday night, but I fell asleep. http://www.cepher.net/?af=59

Thor & Captain America

Welcome to the 38th edition of My Fortnightly Movie/TV Thoughts!  Last fortnight, I reviewed Marvel’s The Avengers (2012) and Iron Man Three (2013) .  This fortnight, I’m reviewing: Thor: The Dark World (2013), rated M for action violence Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), rated M for action violence Those of course are the Australian ratings; in the US, the ratings are: The Dark World – PG-13 for sequences of intense sci-fi action and violence, and some suggestive content The Winter Soldier – PG-13 for intense sequences of violence, gunplay and action throughout As usual, I’ll give the trailers and a clip each at the end.  And as usual, I offer the following disclaimer, just to be safe: WARNING: POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD.  PROCEED AT OWN RISK. Thor: The Dark World Widely considered the weakest of the MCU, I found the second installment in the Thor trilogy to be darker and less family-friendly than the first, but nonetheless a very fun and very solid (and ver
