Restored English Translation of Genesis: Chapter 23

G’day!  Today I present my Restored English Translation (RET) of Beresheet ( Genesis ) chapter 23.  As usual, it contains the Hebrew names and a glossary of them.  At the very end are the Aleph Tavs , which are no longer included in the main text. CHAPTER 23 1 And the life of Sarah was 127 years; the years of the life of Sarah. 2 And Sarah died in Kiryat Arba (the same is Chevron in the land of Kena’an). And Avraham went in to mourn for Sarah and to weep for her. 3 And Avraham stood up from before his dead and spoke to the Chittim, saying, 4 “I am a stranger and a visitor with you. Give me a sepulchre for possession among you, so that I may bury my dead out of my sight.” 5 And the Chittim answered Avraham, saying to him, 6 “Hear us, my master. You are a prince of ELOHIM among us. Bury your dead in the best of our sepulchres . A man of us will not withhold his sepulchre from you, from burying your dead.” 7 And Avraham stood up and bowed himself to the peo...

Did Saul Change His Name to Paul?

Image
This title will likely sound very strange.  I mean, we all know that the persecutor Saul got rid of all relating to Judaism, the Jewish people, and the Torah when he converted, even changing his Hebrew name to the Gentile Paul.  Luke himself mentions “Saul, who was also called Paul” ( Acts  13:9). Of course, I shredded much of those traditional misconceptions in my post Does the Torah Still Apply?   Paul himself openly observed the Torah!  (Another good post on the same subject is Sabbath – Saturday or Sunday? )  Now it’s time to expose another misconception.  I’ll let Greg Lanier do it: I keep coming across a “sticky” misconception that God (specifically, Jesus) changed the name of an important figure we now typically refer to as “Saint Paul.” In a recent sermon, I heard: “Just like Saul the persecutor can become Paul the apostle, God is gracious to us.” On an exam, one of my brightest students wrote: “It is S...

Sabbath - Saturday or Sunday?

Image
miscellaneousoddity We are instructed in Yah’s/God’s word to take the seventh day off as a day of rest. Six days we are meant to work, and on the seventh day we are to rest. But what day of the week is it on? Is it Saturday? Or is it Sunday? Well, the Bible says seventh day, so that sounds like Saturday. BUT the Christians and Catholics take Sunday off for the Sabbath. So why do they worship on Sunday instead of Saturday? Nowhere in the Bible does it say that Yahushua or His disciples celebrated the Sabbath on Sunday. There can be no doubt that Christ, His disciples, and the first-century Christians  kept Saturday, the seventh-day Sabbath. Yet, today, most of the Christian  professing world keeps Sunday, the  first  day of the week, calling  it  the Sabbath . [ https://amredeemed.com/sunday-deception/vatican-admits-the-change-of-sabbath-was-their-act-not-the-bible/ ]. So, who changed it from Saturday to Sunday? YEHOVAH/God or… Vie...

Thunderbird Sightings

Image
Really interesting read! miscellaneousoddity What are the thunderbirds? According to Wikipedia, they are “large, bird-like creatures” and, according to fossil records, they had a wingspan between 4 and 5 m. [1] The bird is generally regarded as a myth. But is it? There have been multiple sightings of a giant bird that the Native Americans call the Thunderbird. The Native Americans have had legends of them since Adam was a cowboy about them coming with the thunderstorms, hence the name “Thunderbird”. In Weston, Massachusetts in the year 1995, a man who called himself Bob saw a giant bird over Weston, Massachusetts and said that its wingspan was about 20 feet. According to him, Bob had driven over a hill when he saw what he thought was a glider coming straight for his vehicle, when he realized that it was a giant bird. My monthly reblog of an older post – this one the first I did. [This was an accident.] Blockbusters Reviewed The following are currently the 10 highest-grossing films of all time .  Contained right below each theatrical poster (and above the review) is the review’s rating. Avatar (2009) 9/10 Impressive. The depth of feelings could carry to impossible; progress and richness contrasted by something more important as love and friendship… Something unique and accompanied by a beautiful soundtrack signed J.Horner. Unforgettable.              – matteoraimondiamadeus for  IMDb on 20 October 2018 Titanic (1997) 4/10 This is no love, Kate and Leonardo mess this whole thing up. I don’t know how many times I watched Titanic, but I ended up disliking it. Preferably I would say that I like a few things about it, such as interior design, vintage furtniture, vintage customes and Cel...

Restored English Translation of Genesis: Chapter 22

Today I present my Restored English Translation (RET) of the 22nd chapter of the Sefer Beresheet , otherwise known as the Book of Genesis .  As usual, it contains the Hebrew names , with a glossary of them afterwards.  It also contains a glossary of where the Aleph/Tavs  occur, as they are no longer included in the main text. This is the chapter in which Abraham nearly sacrificed his son Isaac.  In verse 8, most translations read " Abraham answered, 'God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.'  And the two of them went on together."  However, the Hebrew literally reads "Elohim [God] will provide Himself the lamb for the burnt offering" - a clear Messianic prophecy of Yehoshua ha'Mashiach (Jesus Christ). CHAPTER 22 1 And after these things ELOHIM, testing Avraham, said to him, "Avraham!" And he answered, "I am here." 2 And He said, "Take now your son, your only one, whom you love, Yitschak, and go i...

The Forgotten Jews

This is my monthly reblog of an older post. At first, this title may seem very confusing.  I mean, we know who the Jews are, right?  And you'd be partly right; the Jews - who they are, where they live (e.g. State of Israel, America, etc) are widely known.  But they are only some of the Jews (and yes, they ARE Jews; in a later post I will refute the myth that they are not).  They represent the descendants of Judah's sons Shelah and Perez (albeit not all of Perez's descendants, as I will cover in this article).  Judah had other sons, and other descendants.
