Restored English Translation of Genesis: Chapter 11

 Here is my Restored English Translation (RET) of the 10th chapter of the Book of Genesis (Hebrew: Beresheet).  As usual, it contains the Hebrew names and a glossary of them after the chapter.  As I don’t believe in the Aleph/Tavs any more, I have included a separate section at the very end showing where the Aleph/Tavs appear in the Hebrew text.
The first half of this chapter contains the infamous account of the Tower of Babel.  The latter half contains a genealogy from Shem to Noah.  Like the Genesis 5 genealogy, the main versions of this genealogy – Masoretic (which in this case agrees with the Samaritan Pentateuch) and the Septuagint – disagree on the ages of the patriarchs.  To make matters worse, the Septuagint – which is widely known to exaggerate the numbers in the genealogies (making its numbers generally unreliable) – includes an extra generation (a Cainan in between Arpachshad and Shelah) not found in the other versions.
IF that extra generation is authentic, then it presents a huge problem for the genealogy: it’s a well-known fact that the Septuagint is somewhat unreliable for ages, and yet if Cainan was real, what does it do for the Masoretic numbers?  Does that age of Arpachshad in the Masoretic when he had his son apply to Cainan?  Is it Cainan’s age when he had Shelah?  Does the number of years Arpachshad lived after fathering his son apply to Arpachshad after he fathered Cainan?  Is it how long Cainan lived after fathering Shelah?

Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker The Skywalker Saga has finally come to an end… for the 3rd time!  (This is the absolute final time… apparently.)  In 1983, it seemed – for years to come – that the saga had finally ended with Return of the Jedi .  Then, 16 years later the Prequels came along, and for the better part of a decade it seemed the saga ended with Revenge of the Sith in 2005 (arguably the best of the franchise).

KJV Only?

The KJV Only movement is a belief on the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible - also known as the Authorised Version (AV) or the Authorised King James Version (AKJV) - that ranges from preferring it over other, later translations, to the belief that it's inspired, perfect, and superior to the original Hebrew & Greek texts, and that all other translations are intentionally corrupt, satanic, and unreliable.  The former is of course entirely a matter of personal preference & opinion, and you won't hear criticism of it from me.  The latter on the other hand... well, that's the focus of this article. The Revelation of the Aleph Tav

In the Bible, in the Book of Revelation, we read: “I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the ending, says YEHOVAH ELOHIM [The Lord God], Who is, and Who was, and Who is to come, YEHOVAH of Hosts.” (Revelation 1:8) “I was in the Ruach [Spirit] on the day of YEHOVAH, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a shofar [ram’s horn trumpet], saying, ‘I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last.'” (Revelation 1:10-11a) (the speaker of Yehoshua/Jesus) “And He said to me, ‘It is done.  I am the Aleph and the Tav, the beginning and the end.” (Revelation 21:6a) “I [Yehoshua] am the Aleph and the Tav, teh beginning and the end, the first and the last.” (Revelation 22:13) That is what the Greek translations of the book (on which our English translations are based) says.  In the original Hebrew and its Aramaic translation, the verses clearly say, “I AM the Aleph and the Tav” .  The Aleph and the Tav are the first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet – s
