God in the MCU
You may or may not have heard of a YouTube channel called LED, who hyperanalyse films & shows looking for the slightest possible reference or parallel to Scripture – no matter how thin it may be, whether this reference or parallel be positive or negative, appropriate or inappropriate – and claiming that that automatically makes the movie/show a blasphemous attempt to convert you to satanism. They think that Superman is the Anti-Christ, that titling a show Lucifer automatically makes it off-limits to Christians regardless of actual content, that Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts are satanic (to them, “beast” can only ever mean “satanic beast”; they clearly aren’t too versed in the language they speak). They think Terminator portrays Christ’s return as evil (they get caught up in the name Judgement Day).
So, it’s not too surprising that they’ve convinced themselves that the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) will somehow make you a satan-worshipper. They’ve convinced themselves that the MCU’s genocidal villains who want to wipe out a good portion of life – if not all life – are very similar to God, and that the heroes trying to save us are very similar to satan. Says a lot about their opinion of God.
If you want to view their documentary-length video on the subject (just be warned that you’ll probably pull all your hair out by the end of it – it’s that painful and ridiculous), you may do so here:
