Restored English Translation of Esther: Chapter 6

Today I present my Restored English Translation (RET) of Ester (Esther) chapter 6.  Apart from the last couple of verses (which usually appears at the end of chapter 3), this chapter is not part of most English translations: it’s part of the oldest textual traditions, but (historically unjustifiably) rejected by modern Protestants and Rabbinic Jews, classified among the “Apocrypha”.  See The Canon of Scripture, Part 1: The Apocrypha and Restored English Translation of Esther: Chapter 1.  As usual, it contains the Hebrew names, with a glossary of them at the end.
CHAPTER 6 
1 The copy of the letters was this: “The great King Achashverosh writes these things to the princes and governors who are under him from Hodu to Kush in 127 provinces. 2 After that I became master over many nations and had dominion over the whole world, not lifted up with presumption of my authority, but carrying myself always with equity and mildness, I purposed to settle my subjects continually in a quiet life, and making my kingdom peaceable, and open for passage to the utmost coasts, to renew peace, which is desired of all men. 3 Now when I asked my counselors how this might be brought to pass, Haman, who excelled in wisdom among us, and was approved for his constant good will and steadfast fidelity, and had the honour of the second place in the kingdom, 4 declared to us that in all nations throughout the world there was scattered a certain malicious people, who had laws contrary to all nations, and continually despised the commandments of kings, so as the uniting of our kingdoms, honourably intended by us, cannot go forward. 5 Seeing then we understand that this people alone is continually in opposition to all men, differing in the strange manner of their laws and planning evil against our state, working all the mischief they can that our kingdom may not be firmly established; 6 for this reason have we commanded, that all they who are signified in writing to you by Haman, who is ordained over the affairs, and is next to us, will all, with their wives and children, be utterly destroyed by the sword of their enemies, without all mercy and pity, the 14th day of the 12th month Adar of this present year. 7 That they, who of old and now also are malicious, may in one day with violence go into the grave, and so from now on cause our affairs to be well settled, and without trouble. 8 A copy of the writing for a commandment to be given as an edict in every province was published to all people, that they should be ready for that day.” 9 The runners went out, being hurried by the king’s commandment, and the decree and the edict was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city Shushan was perplexed.

Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker The Skywalker Saga has finally come to an end… for the 3rd time!  (This is the absolute final time… apparently.)  In 1983, it seemed – for years to come – that the saga had finally ended with Return of the Jedi .  Then, 16 years later the Prequels came along, and for the better part of a decade it seemed the saga ended with Revenge of the Sith in 2005 (arguably the best of the franchise).

KJV Only?

The KJV Only movement is a belief on the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible - also known as the Authorised Version (AV) or the Authorised King James Version (AKJV) - that ranges from preferring it over other, later translations, to the belief that it's inspired, perfect, and superior to the original Hebrew & Greek texts, and that all other translations are intentionally corrupt, satanic, and unreliable.  The former is of course entirely a matter of personal preference & opinion, and you won't hear criticism of it from me.  The latter on the other hand... well, that's the focus of this article. The Revelation of the Aleph Tav

In the Bible, in the Book of Revelation, we read: “I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the ending, says YEHOVAH ELOHIM [The Lord God], Who is, and Who was, and Who is to come, YEHOVAH of Hosts.” (Revelation 1:8) “I was in the Ruach [Spirit] on the day of YEHOVAH, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a shofar [ram’s horn trumpet], saying, ‘I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last.'” (Revelation 1:10-11a) (the speaker of Yehoshua/Jesus) “And He said to me, ‘It is done.  I am the Aleph and the Tav, the beginning and the end.” (Revelation 21:6a) “I [Yehoshua] am the Aleph and the Tav, teh beginning and the end, the first and the last.” (Revelation 22:13) That is what the Greek translations of the book (on which our English translations are based) says.  In the original Hebrew and its Aramaic translation, the verses clearly say, “I AM the Aleph and the Tav” .  The Aleph and the Tav are the first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet – s
