I just realised that on April 4th, J-M's History Corner turned a year old!  Thanks to everyone who's read, and stuck with me so far.  (Unfortunately, Blogger won't let me see who's following this site, although I know I've got at least some.)

The country I've had the most all-time views from is Germany at 971 views, followed by Australia at 728 views (some of them my own), the United States at 473 views, Russia at 156 views, Portugal at 127 views), The Netherlands at 63 views, Poland at 47 views, Ukraine at 43 views, France at 40 views, and an unknown number of other views from countless countries that Blogger won't let me see the name of (although they do let me see that there have been 93 views from unknown regions).

  Here is my  Restored English Translation  (RET) of  Beresheet  ( Genesis ) chapter 14.  As usual, it contains the  Hebrew names  and a glossary for them.  After that, at the very end, is a list of occurrences of the  Aleph/ Tavs . Verse 5 is particularly interesting; it mentions that the confederacy that attacked Sodom and Gomorrah had previously struck the Rephaim, Zuzim, Emim and Horites.  The Rephaim were a race of  Nephilim , and the others may have been as well. A History of Marriage - Part 2

It's been 4 months since my A History of Marriage - Part 1 , but I've finally gotten around to the second part.  In Part 1, I discussed marriage traditions of pagan/superstitious origin, and the origin and history of marriage licences.  In Part 2, I'm looking at marriage age, cousin marriage, and avunculate marriage (marriage of a man to his niece, or a woman to her nephew). MARRIAGE AGE (Note: the following is intended purely as a neutral history lesson - I'm not endorsing or condemning anything.) Today, we become adults at 18, and for many that is (or should be) the minimum marriage age.  Has that always been the case? The Werewolves of Ireland
